Alex received a B.S. in Biology from the University of Michigan in 1979. He started work at UM in 2000 on the NLM’s Visible Human Project. He help create the website and various movies, anatomical models and educational materials for the project. He has also worked with the Michigan Center for Biological Information (MCBI) and the DARPA Virtual Soldier Project, setting up video conferencing facilities for meetings and collaboration. He currently works for the National Center for Integrative Biomedical Information (NCIBI) within the Center for Computational Medicine and Bioinformatics (CCMB), creating an archive of recorded lectures and seminars.
